• Background Information
  • Animal Emergency Service of South Jersey opened in November 2003, and was started by James M. Laessig, DVM.
  • The intention in creating this emergency service was to provide a competent and reliable option for veterinarians in our region, so that they would feel confident that their patients would receive compassionate and effective care at our facility.
  • Animal Emergency Service of South Jersey currently is leasing Mount Laurel Animal Hospital to provide emergency care to patients throughout the southern New Jersey region. As part of our lease agreeement, we are able to provide emergency care at times that most veterinary hospitals are unavailable.
  • Furthermore, our mission is to maintain a positive relationship with the community of veterinarians in this area who entrust the care of their patients to our service. Therefore, we provide clients with a complete copy of their pet's medical records, for review by referring veterinarians. Similarly, we provide a copy of all laboratory results obtained, as well as a copy of any digital radiographs that may be obtained.
  • We are a fully-staffed service, and have approximately 30 technical staff and 7 veterinarians who rotate shifts.

• Hours Of Operation
  • Animal Emergency Service of South Jersey is available:
    • Mondays through Fridays: 8 p.m. - 8 a.m.
    • Weekends: 12 p.m. through Monday 8 a.m.
    • Holidays: we are available and fully staffed all national holidays.
